Compatibility mode for Storm (9500/9530)

What is Compatibility Mode on a Storm, and why is it necessary?
Many BlackBerry applications, especially those that pre-dated the launch of the Storm devices and the 4.7 Operating System, were not designed with specifically for the Storm and with touch-screen features. For most of these applications, using a keyboard is necessary.

Compatibility Mode places a virtual keyboard on your Storm device. The keyboard occupies half the screen of your Storm display, while the application itself is displayed in the remaining half. The virtual keyboard may then be used to control the application. It is important that you reference the application's tutorial for instructions on keyboard controls.

While Compatibility Mode may be disabled on your device, you will not be able to control the application as keyboard input is necessary.
